Kansas

Yeah, Kansas is still around too. We know because we've seen advertisements for their new album, Freaks of Nature, which is billed as "the first studio album from Kansas in over seven years." (Why they couldn't have made it eight is not clarified.) We know almost nothing about Kansas. We don't know who is or was in it, and we can name exactly two of their songs: "Carry on My Wayward Son" and "Point of No Return." But we feel as if we know them from the text of their ad, which sounds like it comes from a band who has taken a few hammerings over the years and is a little defensive about it:

"To those freaks of nature who never give upŠ
Who never stop honing their craftŠ
Who never change with the fadsŠ
Who never lose sight of their dreamsŠ
And who never quite conform to being normalŠ
Kansas dedicates this album to you."

We couldn't have put it better ourselves.

On to Peter Frampton
