Drum Circle Note
The Drum Circle is meant to be heard ALOUD,
preferably with drummers wailing away. The most wondrous performance of
it that I can remember was in Santa Cruz, at Chris Funkhauser's house (where
a lot of Camper Van Beethoven used to hang out). As I read the poem,
drummers in the audience got out their drums and began a jam under the moon
which lasted three hours. YES! That's the spirit of the poem.
I offer it here for infinite dispersal on the four winds of cyberspace.
I invite you to read it ALOUD, even alone in your room. Drummers will
understand it, and I hope it brings joy to anyone who hears or reads it.
